The Food and Drug Administration has issued a warning letter to a California farm after a spring inspection documented serious violations of the federal rule governing how fresh produce is grown, harvested, packed, and held.
The letter went to Friend's Stable and Orchard, Inc. The inspection ran from March 23 through March 25 and was conducted by the California Department of Food and Agriculture under FDA authority. The findings concern the Standards for the Growing, Harvesting, Packing, and Holding of Produce for Human Consumption, codified at Title 21, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 112.
