The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has upgraded its recent egg recall over salmonella fears to the most serious level.
The recall, which applies to 19 million eggs, has been moved to Class I, meaning “a situation in which there is a reasonable probability that the use of or exposure to a violative product will cause serious adverse health consequences or death.”
