Former Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli has wasted no time getting himself into hot water at his new club FC Sion, with the Italian pictured stumbling out of a Swiss nightclub earlier this week.
Balotelli, who managed just one season at Anfield after making the move to Merseyside in the summer of 2014, joined the Swiss outfit on deadline day earlier this month following a one-year stint in Turkey with Adana Demirspor.
However, after footage of the Italian, accompanied by friends, leaving the nightclub in Lausanne surfaced on the internet, the Swiss club released a statement jumping to his defence.

“We’re happy with the team’s performance since Balotelli’s arrival," read a club statement. "Sion regrets that the video has taken on unnecessary and disproportionate proportions that damage the image of our striker.”
The 32-year-old former Manchester City striker has only managed 52 minutes for his club since making the switch at the start of September due to suffering from a bout of Bronchitis in recent days, making his appearance at a nightclub all the more concerning.
Since leaving Liverpool, Balotelli has struggled to find a permanent home. His most prolific spell came immediately after leaving Anfield permanently as he joined Ligue 1 side Nice, where he fired 33 league goals for the club, before departing for Marseille in 2019.
After just one year at Orange Vélodrome, the forward moved to Italian second division side Breisca before moving to Monza and then Turkey.
