FBI Director Kash Patel is facing fresh scrutiny after the cybercriminal group ShinyHunters claimed it compromised the bureau's recruitment website.

The FBI said Sept. 23 that it was investigating the claim and an alleged impact on employee personally identifiable information. The bureau has not confirmed the scope of the alleged breach.
