FBI Director Kash Patel met Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul on Tuesday, thanking Thailand for its role in combating online scam networks.
Mr Patel also pledged closer cooperation to tackle transnational crime, including cybercrime, human trafficking and narcotics.
The meeting at Government House was also attended by the US Ambassador to Thailand, Sean O'Neill, and highlighted the longstanding partnership between the FBI and the Royal Thai Police (RTP).
According to government spokeswoman Rachada Dhnadirek, the FBI director praised Thailand's efforts in dismantling online criminal networks and commended the close operational cooperation between the RTP and the FBI.
Both sides agreed to tighten collaboration against scam syndicates and technology-related crimes by expanding intelligence sharing, enhancing investigative coordination and building capabilities to address emerging security threats.
Mr Anutin reaffirmed that combating human trafficking, drug trafficking and online fraud remains a national priority for the Thai government.
"Thailand is ready to work closely with the FBI and international partners to strengthen the fight against transnational crime," he said.
Greater information sharing would be essential to improving law enforcement effectiveness, he added.
The prime minister also highlighted Thailand's SHIELD system, an intelligence database developed by the RTP, as a key platform for exchanging information with international partners in efforts to combat organised criminal networks.
The meeting came as Thailand has stepped up efforts to dismantle cross-border scam operations, many of which have targeted victims worldwide.
Earlier this month, the country hosted an international conference on combating scam networks, bringing together representatives from more than 100 countries, underscoring its growing role in regional and global law enforcement cooperation.
The two sides agreed that the fight against scam syndicates should extend beyond arrests to dismantling entire criminal organisations and their financial and operational networks.
Thai police and the FBI have already developed joint operational plans aimed at eradicating the networks at their roots, the government said.
