'Favourite place to eat': Popular Glasgow restaurant closes permanently

A POPULAR Glasgow restaurant has closed.

Bar Soba has shut its venue on Byres Road as of Sunday, May 14.

The team say the closure is permanent but that their sister venues on Mitchell Lane and in the Merchant City will remain open as usual.

Regular customers reacted to the news, with one commenting: "Sad to read this."

Another said: "Favourite place to eat in West End."

A third wrote: "That's a shame we had many a nice time there."

Founded in 1999, Bar Soba is an Asian fusion restaurant which is popular for its street food style of serving, cocktails and live DJ sets.

In addition to the three - now two - Glasgow venues, there are restaurants in Edinburgh and Leeds.
