Call Cruella de Vil, because she is so back (kinda). Faux fur coats and jackets have re-entered the fashion zeitgeist right in time for our cold, cold winter. They were one of 2025’s biggest winter fashion trends, and while some of y’all may have doubted the chokehold they had on the maximalist girlies, I’m pleased to report that they’re back and better than ever for another winter season.
From Miu Miu at Paris Fashion Week to Tory Burch in New York, faux fur dominated the autumn/winter 2025-2026 runways (and the coolest fashion girlies you know are already working them into their winter wardrobes).
It’s not just the catwalks that are responsible for the resurgence of this fluffy, snuggly outerwear. Celebrities like Hailey Bieber and Kylie Jenner have posted photos to their Instagrams cosying up in their respective coats.
Faux fur has been on its way back since the mob wife aesthetic entered social media feeds in early 2024, but it was much more visible in winter wardrobes last year. In 2026, even more brands are jumping on the bandwagon. There are a lot more faux fur coats on the market, and earlier than last year, too. Thank god for that, because it’s bloody freezing.
And without getting too deep into whether it’s a rejection of the clean girl aesthetic or people are just looking for a fun way to stay warm, I’m personally thrilled for this maximalist era.
I bought my first faux fur coat at Unreal Fur’s Melbourne warehouse sale last year, and I wear it every single opportunity I can get. It’s an ice blue number, and while some may think it’s over-the-top, I’m pretty much guaranteed compliments whenever I wear it.
If faux fur coats have been filling your Pinterest feed and you’re feeling inspired, I couldn’t recommend adding this winter staple to your wardrobe enough. It makes any outfit look so much better.
Whether you want a neutral number or feel like messing around with a colourful faux fur coat, here are 12 of my absolute favourites I’ve spotted this season.
The Best Faux Fur Coats 2026
Unreal Fur Fur Delish Jacket
Unreal Fur had another Melbourne pop-up recently, and you best believe this number came home with me. While I adore my blue faux fur (and she certainly gets her fair share of wear), the brown version is a little more versatile for every day. It also comes in a few other colours, but the dark brown is my fave.

Ena Pelly Daphne Faux Fur Bomber
Made with 100 per cent recycled faux fur fabric, this Ena Pelly coat is the definition of winter warmth. It’s big and boxy, and in a unique shade of olive that’ll help you stand out in the sea of faux furs out there.

Decjuba Sophia Faux Fur Jacket
The texture on this Decjuba piece is to die for. And the deep plum shade?! Absolutely heavenly.

Glassons Faux Fur Bolero
If you’d rather be a little more daring with your faux fur wardrobe choices, Glassons’ Faux Fur Bolero is a great choice if you’re going out for the night. Style it with some low rise jeans, a heeled boot, and you’re ready for the dance floor.

The Frankie Shop Hope Plush Jacket
New York-founded brand The Frankie Shop makes some stunning coats, and the Hope Plush Jacket is no exception. It’s a slightly cropped classic bomber style, with a collar that adds the perfect finishing touch.

MNG Faux Fur Jacket With Pockets
If you’ve been loving the funnel neck outerwear trend lately, take a squizz at MNG’s Faux Fur Jacket With Pockets. Slightly oversized with fuzzy utilitarian-style pockets, this is a great, slightly more casual option.
Shop MNG, $159.95 (usually $249.95)Image: MNG
Lily Loves Faux Fur Coat
Once again, Target has come in clutch. The Lily Loves Faux Fur Coat is a great affordable option if you’re working with a strict budget.

Peppermayo Naylor Faux Fur Jacket
The soft stripes on this Peppermayo faux fur coat adds a little extra depth, and I’m obsessed. The balloon sleeves are a really nice touch, too.
Shop Peppermayo, $179.95Image: Peppermayo
Aje Province Knit Cardigan
If you’d rather ease into the faux fur trend, this Penny Lane style cardigan from Aje is to die for. I’ve seen a lot of brides-to-be wearing the white version (now sold out) on their hens, and it looks super chic.
Shop Aje, $249Image: Aje
Adrienne Landau Ivy Jacket
Speaking of Penny Lane coats, the Ivy Jacket by Adrienne Landau is very rockstar-esque. The big faux fur trim on the body of the jacket and cuffs screams ‘I’m going to an underground artist’s gig, you wouldn’t have heard of them’.
Shop Adrienne Landau, $530.21Image: Forever New
Need a new pair of jeans to wear with your faux fur coat? We’ve got you covered in that department, too.
