- Palestinian refugee Hossam Al-Khawas, his partner and their teenage daughter have died after getting into difficulty in the water near Shoreham Fort on the Sussex coast.

- Emergency services , including the RNLI, HM Coast Guard , and Sussex Police , were dispatched to the estuary at Shoreham Beach at around 2.40pm on Tuesday following reports of four swimmers in distress.
