Father's Day 2023: Last minute ideas for gifts and experiences

Father's Day is this Sunday, June 20 - and there could still be a lot of us wondering what is the best gift to give our dads this year.

Dads can be difficult to buy for at times, and it can be a big task to find them the perfect gift that they will appreciate. However, there's still time to get them something thoughtful whether it be some skincare or an evening out you could enjoy together.

Aldi's selection of camping gear and gifts

Aldi have an amazing selection of traditional gifts that most dads would love to receive on Father's Day. They have camping equipment which includes a camping chair, a camping cookware set, a dome tent and much more.

There are also some relaxing gifts up for grabs including pyjamas, candles and a men's grooming kit. Last but certainly not least there are also a number of alcoholic drinks available including whiskey, gin, Heineken and Guinness.

Cosmetics

If your dad or the man in your life likes taking care of himself when it comes to skincare then products from Irish brand The Handmade Soap Company might be your best bet. They have released their first ever Men's skincare range which includes a beard oil, hair and body wash, shaving gel, after-shave balm, a bar of soap, and a 100% compostable deodorant.

Developed and manufactured in Slane, Meath the brand are as completely natural and sustainable as possible. The range can be found on their website and the products range in price from €7 to €18.

Alcohol

Sometimes the simplest of gifts can be the most appreciated and if your dad loves a good bottle of whiskey then a bottle of Tullamore D.E.W Irish whiskey could be the best present. The alcohol is created in Tullamore and blends three whiskeys together to create the unique taste that is spicy and sweet.

The bottle sells for €32 and can be found in Tesco and Supervalu nationwide.

Going out for dinner

Treating your dad to dinner can be a lovely way to mark the occasion and to spend some time together. Little Pyg on the Powerscourt Townhouse rooftop has officially been crowned Ireland's best pizza, making it the perfect spot for a bite to eat.

If your dad loves a trip to the local pub then give his evening an upgrade with a booking at the newly renovated Backyard Gastropub in Dundrum. Located conveniently just above the Balally Luas stop this is an ideal location and with their wide range of food and drinks to chose from your dad will be more than impressed.

A rooftop bar experience

Going to a rooftop bar for a couple of drinks is the perfect summer activity and any dad would appreciate the effort of making a booking at the boujee Hyde bar located just off Grafton Street. It is Dublins newest and largest rooftop bar with a different concept on each of its four floors.
