Fasting times for Ramadan 2023: Full list of when Fajr and Maghrib prayers begin

Ramadan is right around the corner and will see Muslims all over the world fast from sunrise to sunset.

It is understood that Ramadan 2023 in the UK will start on Wednesday, March 22 or Thursday, March 23, depending on the sighting of the moon. Because the Islamic day traditionally starts at sunset, Muslims will begin observing their fast once the sunrises in the early morning.

Prior to the start of the fast, a generous meal will be eaten before the start of the Fajr prayer, signalling the start of the fast. The closing of the fast will be indicated by the setting of the sun and the Maghrib prayer, allowing Muslims to eat and drink for the remainder of the day.
