The fast travel system in Hogwarts Legacy is the same one from the books. While it can be fun spending all day exploring the open world on your broomstick, it’s much faster – and easier – to use Floo Powder to fast travel. There are Floo Flames set up all over the map, and just like Harry Potter himself, you can use them to travel from place to place with ease.
Here’s everything you need to know about fast travel in Hogwarts Legacy.
Hogwarts Legacy: How to use Floo Flames
The best thing about the fast travel system in Hogwarts Legacy is that Floo Powder isn’t a limited resource. You don’t need to collect it, or buy it from shops, as you are given an unlimited supply. This is great, because if you hope to complete Hogwarts Legacy, you are going to use a lot of it.
Before you can travel to a fast travel point – known as Floo Flames – you have to unlock it first. You will know which areas have one by looking for the grey Floo Flame icon on the world map. You need to travel to one by slower means such as your broom, a mount, or on foot in order to unlock it. This means you’ll be able to return to it by fast travel in the future.
You can travel to a Floo Flame by opening your world map. Then hover over the active Floo Flame icon, and press the square button to travel there if you’re on PlayStation, or the X button if you’re on Xbox.
At each Floo Flame, you will find an enchanted bust of Ignatia Wildsmith, the witch who invented Floo Powder. She is the stone face that talks to you every time you pass by a fast travel point.
