There could be another Rangers departure this summer with Burnley understood to be interested in Fashion Sakala.
The Championship are ready to offer £3million for the forward, reports the Scottish Daily Express, as boss Vincent Kompany looks to bolster his squad some more. There is major uncertainty surrounding Sakala 's future at Ibrox given the new additions brought in by Gio van Bronckhorst during this transfer window. Antonio Colak, Rabbbi Matondo, Malik Tillman and Tom Lawrence have boosted the Light Blues' front line with the return for Alfredo Morelos and pending return of Kemar Roofe, the Zambian is likely out of favour.
Sakala played his part in the Europa League Final and the Scottish Cup Final since signing from Oostende in 2021. He has netted 12 time in 50 appearances, including that left footed strike in the Old Firm. But he is yet to kick a ball this season having been an unused sub in the two Champions League qualifying legs as well as against Livingston on the opening day of the 2022/23 campaign.
The Zambia international was also understood be be on the radar of Real Sociedad in Spain and Auxerre in France, but nothing materialised. However, the Clarets are firmly in the market for an attacker and Sakala could fit the bill. The 25-year-old is well known to manager Vincent Kompany, with the pair playing against each other in Belgium when the former Manchester City man was player-manager for Anderlecht.
The manager is looking for pace and a goal threat as he looks to lead Burnley back to the Premier League after taking the reins at Turf Moor this summer.
