Every year TIME magazine fills everyone in on the most influential people around. The list includes members of the worlds of politics, entertainment, philanthropy and more. The full breakdown won't be revealed until tomorrow, but we know at least one name that made the list.
Singer/songwriter and fashion virtuoso Dua Lipa even managed to land one of the issue's coveted covers. We're not really shocked to see the London-born artist grace the list. Or the cover for that matter. Singer/songwriter Patti Smith penned the TIME tribute, calling Lipa "driven, independent, and possesses a desire for knowledge. She appeals to future artists to be mindful of the world around them. She is herself, striving to redefine the pop-genre cosmos."
The duo also discussed Lipa's role in the spy thriller Argylle and her new media and management company, Radical22. "I've been planting seeds for my other endeavors my whole life...It's a way for me to be able to show everyone other sides to who I am. I love my music career and the fact that it gives me so much opportunity for expression. But it's not the only thing I am."
Indeed, Lipa isn't a one-hit wonder. She has left her mark in a remarkably short period of time. She has managed to rack up the hits, including a real Barbie banger, and plenty of style accolades. She's not only appeared in Versace advertising campaigns, but co-designed the fashion house's La Vacanza collection alongside Donatella Versace. Plus, she also reps Puma.
It's a pretty safe bet that Lipa will keep on keeping on. She's probably already manifesting her next foray into fashion. While we wait for what's sure to come, click here to read the magazine's article about the unstoppable superstar.
