- Simon Dudley has been sacked as Reform UK’s housing spokesperson by party leader Nigel Farage.
- The sacking followed widespread anger over Mr Dudley's comments regarding the Grenfell Tower fire, which he described as a “tragedy” but added that “everyone dies in the end”.
- Mr Dudley, who was appointed in March, had also criticised building safety regulations introduced after the 2017 fire, which killed 72 people.
- Mr Farage told a press conference on Thursday the issue “has been dealt with”.
- Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer had joined calls for Mr Dudley's dismissal, labelling his remarks “shameful”.
