It was an exciting and interesting Week 7, where we saw the some new names enter into our collective fantasy football minds. Injuries and breakout stars are going to send fantasy managers scrambling to waivers this week, and we can full you in on who to target before waivers clear.
1. Dalton Kincaid, TE, Buffalo Bills
With veteran tight end Dawson Knox likely to miss the rest of the 2023 season with a wrist injury it is major stock up for the dynamic rookie first round pick Dalton Kincaid. While he has shown flashes this year it has been hard for Kincaid to really breakthrough as a viable fantasy option, and now that he is cemented into that starting spot he has a good chance of seeing his snap count go through the roof. Kincaid should be a priority add in every league he is available in as an instant top 12 tight end.
2. Darrell Henderson Jr., RB, Los Angeles Rams
With the talented young Kyren Williams missing time with injury the Los Angeles Rams picked up free agent team veteran Darrell Henderson Jr. to come in and round out the running back room. Most assumed Henderson would be worked into the offense slowly in a committee, but he ended up dominating snaps in his first game with the team this season against the Steelers. As long as Kyren Williams is out it looks like Henderson will be the back to fill his shoes in a prolific offense.
3. Josh Downs, WR, Indianapolis Colts
We had Downs listed here last week and he managed to have an incredibly productive game against the Cleveland Browns amounting to 125 yards and a touchdown. Downs is a dynamic slot weapon who can churn out yards after the catch in a second, and is a true threat to squeeze it past the goal line near the red zone. Add Downs and fire him up as a WR2, his connection with Minshew is legit.
4. Kyler Murray, QB, Arizona Cardinals
The practice window for Kyler Murray opened this week and we could realistically see the Arizona star back in the field anywhere in the next few weeks. If you have a roster spot to spare and need help at quarterback, Murray could be a solid addition for you. Murray has consistently been a top fantasy quarterback thanks to his running ability combined with an elite arm. Don’t sleep on him just because he is on an awful team.
5. Pierre Strong Jr., RB, Cleveland Browns
With yet another Cleveland Browns running back falling prey to the injury bug this week in Jerome Ford, newcomer Pierre Strong saw his snap share jump. Strong is a dynamic back who excels as a receiver out of the backfield and should split carries with Hunt fairly evenly moving forward. If Strong breaks out behind an excellent Browns offensive line, you will want to be the one who has him rostered.
