Starts and sits is here to help fantasy managers make those all important last minute lineup decisions .While we won’t tell you about obvious starts such as Christian McCaffrey or Raheem Mostert, we will find players you may be waffling about and help you make a decision.
Let’s look at running backs for Week 8.
Start: Dameon Pierce, Houston Texans
Dameon Pierce hasn’t been able to build on his breakout rookie performance to the extent that fantasy managers were hoping so far this season but he has still bee the bell cow on this Houston offense. This week Pierce finds himself with a juicy matchup against a Carolina Panthers defense that has been devastated by injury. Giving up 4.9 yards per carry on the season, this Panthers defense is ripe for the picking for the young back as he looks to make a bounce back on a frustrating season so far. Start Pierce confidently as a high upside RB2.
Start: Breece Hall, New York Jets
Having proven himself to clearly be one of the most talented backs in the entire league, Hall has put himself in position to become a league winner. Coming off a frustrating matchup against an Eagles’ defensive line that clearly outmatched his own line, Hall was unable to find much room to make his typical big play. This week Hall faces a Giants team that is currently giving up 5.0 yards a carry on the ground. Hall will see plenty of work and could have himself a top five game at the position. Start Hall confidently as a RB1.
Sit: Brian Robinson Jr., Washington Commanders
Having quietly one of the best seasons in fantasy at the position this year, it is going to be tough to try and justify to yourself to leave Brian Robinson Jr. on the bench this week. However, Robinson is running behind the leagues worst offensive line and is facing off against perhaps the best defensive line in all of football. This is building up to be a disaster of a game for Washington and it’s going to hard to trust any Commanders’ player this week to be frank. Leave Robinson on the bench if you have any other viable options at your running back spot this week.
Start: Kareem Hunt, Cleveland Browns
It’s not exactly an easy matchup for Karrem Hunt this week against one of the best run-stuffing defenses in the league in the Seattle Seahawks, but when opportunity comes knocking behind an elite offensive line, you take it. With Jerome Ford out for this weekends game the majority of the running back snaps will be going to Hunt, and with Cleveland rolling with their backup quarterback once again this week they will be extra motivated to run the ball. Fire Kareem Hunt up as a RB2 this week, he will see plenty of opportunities as Cleveland’s out of nowhere top weapon.
Sit: Miles Sanders, Carolina Panthers
We know how talented Miles Sanders is based off his years in Philadelphia and it has become a bit of a head scratcher on his lack of success in Carolina as well with his overall scheme fit with the team. Now healthy Sanders should see plenty of touches behind an offensive line that is getting their best player back in Austin Corbett, but that is simply not enough to trust Sanders this week. With Chuba Hubbard sneaking in plenty of carries and looking better at the position combined with what has been a putrid interior offensive line, there is just no way to trust Sanders until he proves it otherwise.
