Fantasy Football: Quarterback starts and sits for Week 7

Starts and sits is here to help fantasy managers make those all important last minute lineup decisions .While we won’t tell you about obvious starts such as Christian McCaffrey or Tyreek Hill, we will find players you may be waffling about and help you make a decision.

Let’s look at quarterbacks for Week 7.

Start: Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers

Jamie Sabau-USA TODAY Sports

Fresh off of a bye week Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love is set up for his juiciest matchup of the season so far, with an ailing Denver Broncos defense awaiting him in the Mile High city. Love had a rough game the last time we saw him against a surprisingly good Las Vegas Raiders defense. Love should have little problems dissecting a putrid Denver defense, even if they did hold Patrick Mahomes in check last week. Fire love up as a top 15 option this week.

Start: Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers

Brock Purdy lost his first regular season game against an excellent Cleveland Browns defense that harassed him all day long with the best edge duo in the game. The Minnesota Vikings defense he faces this week will bring no such challenge. Purdy should be able to best this middling secondary and receive much better protection with only one elite pass rusher opposite him this time. Purdy is a reliable top 15 option this week.

Sit: Mac Jones, New England Patriots

Eric Canha-USA TODAY Sports

Things are going very poorly in New England, and though placing all the blame on the shoulders of Mac Jones would be misplaced, that doesn’t really matter for your fantasy team. Jones is playing poorly, nothing is working offensively, and this whole squad is just a mess. Jones had a few solid fantasy outings early but he should be off al rosters in one quarterback leagues at this point in the season. Two quarterbacks leagues start him if you dare against a ferocious Buffalo defense that doesn’t much care for the New England quarterback.

Start: Jared Goff, Detroit Lions

Don’t look now but Jared Goff is playing like a top ten quarterback in the league and his fantasy season is reflecting it. Now with Jameson Williams is in the lineup opening up the deep ball for Goff he will have plenty of targets to air it out to. The Baltimore Ravens defense is a solid one, but this certainly feels like a game where both teams will put up heapings of points. Fire Goff up as a top five quarterback this week, and maybe trade for him if you are quarterback needy.

Sit: Gardner Minshew, Indianapolis Colts

Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports

Gardner Minshew was on this list last week as a start and I will be the first to admit I completely whiffed on that one. Minshew did not play well against his former team and their middle of the road defense, so probably don’t expect him to fare much better against what is currently the top defense in the league. Minshew should not be rostered in anything but two quarterback formats, and even then find a better option.
