Starts and sits is here to help fantasy managers make those all important last minute lineup decisions .While we won’t tell you about obvious starts such as Christian McCaffrey or Justin Jefferson, we will find players you may be waffling about and help you make a decision.
Let’s look at quarterbacks for Week 5.
Start: Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers
Jordan Love is quickly establishing himself as an upper tier fantasy quarterback, and this week he gets a mouth watering matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders. Last week the Raiders allowed and injured Justin Herbert to march up and down the field on them, and Love should find similar success with his unique group of weapons. Fire Love up as a top ten quarterback this week. He might be a solid trade option for those QB needy teams out there if you can snag him.
Start: Zach Wilson, New York Jets
Let’s put it bluntly – you aren’t going to look like a genius if you go out there and start Zach Wilson this week in fantasy football. That being said, Wilson looked solid last week in a closer than expected match against the Kansas City Chiefs, and this week Wilson sees a defense that everyone in the NFL has shredded. We all can see the physical talent is there, and if Wilson can hit a few wide open shots down the field, he could make for a decent streaming option over a handful of guys. Proceed with caution.
Sit: Derek Carr, New Orleans Saints
It seemed obvious to just about everyone that Derek Carr rushed back from injury and was not healthy last week against the division rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who were able to take advantage of a stiff looking Carr and shut down that entire offense. This week Carr sees an even better defensive unit that is bound to be pissed off after their loss last week. It’s hard to believe Carr will be fully healthy and even if he was he would be outside of starting range. Stream someone elese this week if you can.
Start: Jared Goff, Detroit Lions
The Carolina Panthers secondary has been ravaged by injuries since the start of the season, and that is good news for Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff. Already proving to be one of the best signal callers in the NFC it’s hard to imagine the Lions will not attempt to attack a fractured Carolina secondary. Fire Jared Goff up as a top ten quarterback this week along with his primary weapons.
Sit: Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals
It hasn’t been pretty for the normally elite passer Joe Burrow, and there are many things to blame for it. His injury, his offensive line, or his play calling. Regardless, things are not right in Cincinnati right now and Burrow is being feasted upon as a statue in the pocket. This Arizona Cardinals defense is scrappy and does get to the quarterback. You can’t drop Burrow but perhaps find a better temporary streaming option until the either shut him down or he looks healthier.
