Knowledge is power and the greatest asset you can acquire in order to compete for a fantasy football championship.
Here's your 2022 preview of the New Orleans Saints, the 15th of 32 team profiles during draft season:
— 2022 Fantasy MVP: Michael Thomas, WR
Thomas (ADP: 64) hasn't played in almost 18 months, but I doubt he forgot how to get open. From 2016-2019, his per-17-game averages produced 127 receptions (162 targets), 1,487 yards and nine touchdowns. If he's 75% of his former self, we're talking 95 receptions for 1,115 yards and seven touchdowns. Brandin Cooks finished as fantasy's WR16 in PPR formats last season with 90 receptions, 1,037 yards and six touchdowns. Thomas is currently being drafted as a WR26.
— 2022 Fantasy Sleeper: Jameis Winston, QB
Winston (ADP: 163) is only three years removed from finishing as the QB3 overall. He was surprisingly efficient last season, showing real growth in his game, before he suffered a torn ACL. This year he gets the return of Thomas, and the additions of rookie Chris Olave and veteran slot machine Jarvis Landry.
— 2022 Fantasy Bust: Alvin Kamara, RB
Kamara's (ADP: 16) ongoing legal situation is scaring me off. Drafting him is betting on his lawyers successfully kicking the can down the road far enough to where a potential suspension doesn't happen until next season.
— 2022 Fantasy Rookie to watch: Chris Olave, WR
Olave (ADP: 104) seems to be priced much closer to his floor than ceiling. The No. 11 overall pick could develop into Winston's primary target if Thomas' recovery from his ankle injury hits a snag.
