A temporary closure of a Nottingham restaurant has turned into a permanent one. Days before before Christmas, 13th Element announced unforeseen circumstances had forced it to close until further notice.
But now owner Liam Russell has said it's "bad news" that the vegan restaurant in Castle Boulevard has closed for good. It's less than a year since it opened selling burgers, fries and small plates of corn ribs, cauliflower wings and mac & cheese. However, the business started three years ago as a pop-up at Nottingham Street Food Club in Nottingham's Victoria Centre.
Liam, a former meat eater who turned vegan in 2012 to improve his health, said: "We started the business three years ago with one passion to focus on offering great food and a great atmosphere that introduced people to vegan food as it should be and changed their mind on how they perceived it whilst helping the sustainability of our health and planet.
