Caitlin Clark went into Sunday’s matchup against Ohio State needing just 18 points to break Pete Maravich’s record of 3,667 for the most points in Division I history (both men and women). She only needed one half to break that mark.
After a questionable technical call on Ohio State, Clark was sent to the line where she knocked down a pair of free throws to move past Maravich.
This was the scene in Iowa City as Clark broke the record.

After the 18-point first half, Clark told the Fox broadcast that she wasn’t even sure that was the record until she heard the crowd’s reaction.
Still, fans were pumped to see Clark solidify her spot atop the college basketball record books.

In a way it’s kinda cool breaking the record off a technical free throw. She did it standing alone with all eyes on her https://t.co/4THqvwmsuj
