Hold onto your disco sticks, Little Monsters and Midwest Princesses, because the pop music Gods might be blessing us with the collab of the century.
The internet is buzzing with speculation that Lady Gaga and rising star Chappell Roan could be cooking up something iconic in the studio. Honestly thank God for the sleuths of the internet because this collab rumour is a major source of joy for me right now.
Let’s dive into the tea, shall we?
Lady Gaga has followed Chappell Roan
In a move that sent stan X (formerly stan Twitter) into a frenzy on August 30, Mother Monster herself hit that follow button on Chappell Roan’s Instagram.
Now, we’re not saying this is definitive proof of a collab, but in the world of celebrity social media, a follow is practically a marriage proposal.
If you think I’m being dramatic, remember that internet detectives caught wind of the Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga collab “Die With A Smile”, because they followed each other, so it’s not so far-fetched a theory.
Chappell’s producer Daniel Nigro jumps on the following spree
As if Gaga’s follow wasn’t enough to set the rumour mill ablaze, fans noticed Chappell’s producer Daniel Nigro join the party. He’s now following both artists, which one can only hope is the music industry equivalent of a group chat.
If you recognise his name, Daniel also produced Olivia Rodrigo‘s and Conan Gray‘s albums, so we know he’s got the Midas touch.
An exciting Deuxmoi tip
Our favorite celebrity gossip account, Deuxmoi, has dropped a juicy tidbit about a potential collab between a “megastar” and a “fiery-haired midwestern sensation”. While we can’t confirm it’s about Gaga and Chappell, the description fits like a glove.
Fans suspect that the Gaga collaboration will happen on a deluxe version of Chappell’s debut album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess. I would seriously need three to five business days to recover from these diva’s collabbing.
Lady Gaga is already a fan of Chappell Roan
Like everyone else in the world, Lady Gaga has already made it clear that she is a fan of Chappell Roan. After a TikTok of Chappell covering “Bad Romance” went viral, Gaga commented, “I love Chappell,” complete with four black heart emojis.
If that’s not a pop music blessing, I don’t know what is. It’s the kind of endorsement that could launch a thousand ships — or at least a few chart-topping singles.
While we wait for official confirmation, we’ll be over here manifesting this collab by practicing our choreography to a hypothetical “Red Wine Supernova” and “Poker Face” mash-up…. Just in case.
