Fans react to emotional Graeme Souness after Sky Sports announce departure

Sky Sports announced Liverpool's 4-3 win over Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield would be Graeme Souness' last game as a pundit on the channel.

The Liverpool legend has been on Sky Sports for 15 years and is known for his strong views and not being shy of criticising any player.

Souness was in tears at the end of the post-match analysis of Liverpool's dramatic victory as it was announced he would be leaving Sky.

Since leaving his post as manager of Newcastle United in 2006, Souness has been heavily involved with punditry work within football.

News of Souness leaving Sky Sports came after Jeff Stelling announced he would be leaving the same company after three decades.

Fans took to Twitter as they reacted to the news of Souness leaving: "Gutted Graeme Souness is leaving sky."

The 'end of an era': "Graeme Souness leaving Sky Sports is the end of an era. I'll miss his straight talking attitude."

Souness' 'no nonsense' approach will be missed: "Going to miss Graeme Souness on Sky Sports. I've enjoyed his no nonsense approach, his debates, a straight talker and he always says what's on his mind."

This Blackburn Rovers fan was sad to see Souness leave: "Absolute legend Graeme Souness. Thanks for everything you did at Blackburn Rovers."

Another Reds supporter was 'gutted' at Souness' departure: "Absolutely gutted about this. Graeme Souness is a Liverpool legend, one of the greatest ever. He has Liverpool in his heart. Also my favourite pundit. Thanks for everything Graeme."

'Never afraid to speak his mind' is something the ex-Liverpool midfielder was admired for: "Gonna miss Graeme Souness on sky sports. Never afraid to speak his mind, very passionate and knowledgeable about the game. One of my favourite ever players of all time."

Could Liverpool be bringing Souness back into the midfield?! "Look like we're signing Graeme Souness in midfield next season then! Good match to end the Sky footy punditry with!"
