Fans Moved By Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame’s Tribute To Liam Payne: ‘This One Hurt’

As tributes continue to pour out for the late Liam Payne, the recently deceased musician was given a special honour at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio.

Days after the former One Direction member fell to his death from the third story of a balcony in Buenos Aires, people across the globe are reacting to the untimely death.

But as well as tributes from fans, family, and his former band members, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame paid its respects to the 31-year-old on Saturday evening (local time).

As the renowned Rock and Roll institution held an inductees ceremony to celebrate new additions to the Hall of Fame, it also paid homage to noteworthy musical figures that recently passed.

Among those being commemorated was Liam Payne, whose image was broadcast on a screen in the hall. The photo was from his earlier days as a member of One Direction.

Payne’s image resulted in cheers from the audience, and footage of the memorial tribute quickly amassed thousands of likes online.

“It’s always touching to see such tributes for beloved artists,” wrote one X user.

“This one hurt,” shared another.

The circumstances surrounding Payne’s death are currently under investigation with the Buenos Aires police, who are currently looking into allegations that staffers provided the pop star with drugs that led to his passing.

Payne had flown to Argentina to meet with fellow former One Direction member, Niall Horan, in an attempt to reconnect with his old friend.

Following the tragic death, Zayn Malik postponed his US tour while he grappled with the “heartbreaking” loss. Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson, as well as the aforementioned One Direction members, all released statements following Payne’s demise.

“For now, our thoughts are with his family, his friends, and the fans who loved him alongside us,” read a statement from the band.

“We will miss him terribly.”
