The internet has been thrown into a tizzy over Australiana heartthrob Jacob Elordi‘s reaction to a fan who attempted to take a selfie with him in Japan.
Earlier this week, Otavio Bittencourt (@otaviobittencourt) went hyper-viral on Instagram and TikTok after sharing his ~heated~ encounter with the Wuthering Heights star.
In the video, which has garnered more than 940k views on Instagram and 2.9 million views on TikTok, Bittencourt walked beside Elordi before asking him for a selfie.
When the actor ignored him, Bittencourt continued to follow him as he walked towards a group of his friends. In an attempt to get his attention, Bittencourt put his hand on his back, which prompted a sharp reaction from the actor.
“Please don’t touch me, bro,” Jacob said before turning and rushing away.

Jacob Elordi’s reaction divides fans
With the actor setting a direct boundary with Bittencourt, fans took to the comments, debating whether Elordi was right or wrong in his reaction. Some defending Bittencourt, with some claiming Elordi was “rude”.
“He seems like a rude,” one person commented.
“It wasn’t that big of a deal, you just wanted a picture,” another penned.
“He’s now with a Jenner. He is untouchable,” wrote a third.
However, most of the comments defended the star, calling out Otavio for touching Jacob when he refused to take a pic.
“I would never touch a celebrity to get their attention. Put yourself in their shoes. Your innocent tap reads a bit different when you’ve been hounded relentlessly by so many different types of fans, paparazzi, etc. It’s just not fair to judge this the way we would normally tap or gently touch someone to get their attention,” a viewer wrote.
“I’m sure you wouldn’t want strangers touching you either.. Celebrity or not… Don’t touch people you don’t know,” another commented.
“Why are you touching strangers?” a third questioned.
As commenters continued to slam Otavio for touching the Euphoria actor, he responded in the comments to explain his actions.
“Some of you in the comments are so soft, you’ve got me laughing,” he began.
“I went to the restaurant to eat and had no idea they’d be there. Then they suddenly walked in while I was waiting in line. I didn’t go up to them while they were eating. On their way out, I asked for a picture,” he continued.
“Just a fan who was excited to meet him and wanted to capture the moment, that’s all. No disrespect intended. It’s not like I stalked them or wrapped him in a bear hug. No big deal.”
Jacob’s spicy run-in with a fan comes shortly after he was spotted in Japan with rumoured girlfriend Kendall Jenner. The pair have been romantically linked since Coachella 2026, after an insider claimed they spotted Elordi and Jenner snogging at Justin Bieber‘s after-party.
However, the pair have been friends for yonks, with Elordi attending Jenner‘s birthday party back in 2022.
The rumoured couple have yet to hard launch their relationship, but something tells me an awards show debut is on the cards.
