Netflix has announced its hugely popular show You will end after five seasons.
Fans have been left in shock by the announcement that the show, starring Penn Badgely, will only get one more season before its end. Season four of You recently released on the streaming giant over two parts, with the series quickly becoming the most popular show on Netflix.
It follows Badgely as Joe Goldberg, a murderous romantic who becomes dangerously obsessed with the women he's interested in dating. The most recent series saw him travel to London to stalk his ex-girlfriend Marienne, played by Tati Gabrielle, only for his attention to be grabbed by Kate, played by Charlotte Ritchie, reports BirminghamLive.

In a post on its Instagram, Netflix said: "Brace yourself for Joe Goldberg's final chapter. You will return for a fifth and final season in 2024!". The post included a video compilation of Joe saying his iconic line 'Hello, you', before ending with him saying 'Goodbye, you'.
In reply, a fan said: "I would love to see Dr. Nicky and Nadia - both imprisoned for Joe's crimes - band together with Marienne to not only prove their innocence, but Joe's guilt. But given how the show's gone so far, I imagine Joe will end up free and clear of all charges and live happily ever after."
Another said: "We knew it was only a matter of time before the show would finish and there’s only so much left you could do but finishing it where it all started is a great thing," and a third said: "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO."
Sunrise said: "Thank you for all the content and the fun times we had here and definitely for S4!! Can't wait to have you back!" and another said: "Fingers crossed that Ellie makes an appearance and teams up with Marianne! Ellie was supposed to make an appearance in Season 4, so hoping she at least makes it for Season 5!".
Sandra said: "Please bring Love back! One last time! Please re-alive her! And bring Henry back!! Reunite the happy family," and Pulkit said: "Season 5 is about to be the craziest thing I've ever seen omg, I've loved this show so much and I'm excited to see it go out with a bang."
