Ángel Hernández has long been arguably the worst umpire in Major League Baseball. He has missed most of this season due to an undisclosed medical issue but was back in action Monday night after a really bad rehab assignment in the minor leagues.
Hernández was the second base ump in the Brewers-Nationals game in Washington and it didn’t take him long to show everybody just why he’s known as being one of the worst umpires in the game.
Check out this safe call he made on a stolen base in the bottom of the fifth inning. The runner was clearly out but Hernández emphatically called him safe, only to later have the call overturned by replay.
