With the Minnesota Vikings staring 0-2, there are plenty of people who think tanking the 2023 season should be an option. With a tank comes possible trade option and Fan Duel’s Twitter account has proposed a wild one, sending superstar wide receiver Justin Jefferson to the New England Patriots.

But would they actually consider trading Justin Jefferson to the Patriots? 🤔#SKOL #ForeverNE pic.twitter.com/QZNHTTuSSV

Yes, you read that correctly. Jefferson to the Patriots was a real trade proposal.
Two first-round picks and a third-round pick would be equivalent to what the Los Angeles Rams sent the Jacksonville Jaguars for Jalen Ramsey. Would it be a fair offer? It absolutely could be.
Trading Jefferson, however, wouldn’t be just a move to tank the season. It would be a signal that the Vikings are going to be going into a full rebuild. That is something that general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah has explicitly talked about not wanting to do because it’s not conducive in trying to win football games.
The Vikings might end up making some trades, but don’t expect Jefferson to be one of them.
