Hundreds of women have accused the manufacturers of Carefree panty liners of exposing them to a potentially cancer-causing chemical, alleging they developed serious illnesses after years of using the products.
The lawsuit, reportedly filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, claims the feminine hygiene products contained perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), a synthetic substance belonging to a group of chemicals known as PFAS, or 'forever chemicals'.
