BOSSES at a famous Rangers pub in Glasgow’s East End say it is to close for good this month.
The team at the Original Louden Tavern on Duke Street took to social media on Wednesday evening to announce the closure.
In a statement posted to the venue’s Facebook page, staff wrote: “Well, sad news for the pub today.
“You know the old saying, use your Rangers pubs or lose them. Well, unfortunately the time has come for the Louden to close its doors for the last time.
“It’s not being used; please take on board and don’t let this happen to any other Rangers pubs.
"Next weekend, the last weekend of the month, we will have a weekend of entertainment to be announced in the coming days.
“So hopefully see you all for one last party in the Louden, as this will be the doors closed for the last time.”
Customers shared their sadness at the news in the comments.
One person said: “It’s been a pleasure being the resident DJ for the last few years; had some class times. It’ll definitely be missed.”
A second added: “A sad day, best to the staff for the future.”
Meanwhile, a third commented: “Great times there for my first Rangers games, staying in Duke Street in the early eighties.”
A fourth wrote: “Proposed to my now wife in there 10 years ago. So, so sad to hear this.”
