Famous Dog Stole the Show While Sitting Court-Side at Knicks-Lakers Game

Lakers games at Crypto.com Arena always attract all kinds of celebrities. For Monday night’s game against the Knicks, filmmaker Spike Lee showed up to watch his favorite team. Other celebs in attendance included actor John David Washington, Dodgers star Mookie Betts and, of course, Brodie.

Who’s Brodie? No, not Clippers star Russell Westbrook (who gave himself that nickname). Brodie is a very famous dog. He has millions of followers on social media (1 million on Instagram, 5 million on YouTube and 6.6 million on TikTok) and goes everywhere with his owner, Cliff Brush. That includes courtside at Monday night’s Lakers game, where he was was wearing his own Austin Reaves jersey. (Or should we say Pawstin Reaves?)

He also got to meet New York swingman Josh Hart and was seen sitting on Brush’s lap during a commercial break, much to Knicks announcer Mike Breen’s amusement.

Brodie, who Brush said earned $1 million in brand deals this year, was able to attend the game in his highly desirable seat because he’s been certified as Brush’s service dog. Brush has an autoimmune disease called lichen planus that causes rashes and sores. He says the condition can be worsened by stress and that being with Brodie reduces his stress level, according to the New York Post. That means that courtside at a Lakers game isn’t the only high-end environment you’ll find Brodie in. He also flies first class with Brush wherever they go.
