
The parents of a severely disabled 16-year-old girl are unable to install a life-changing lift on the home they own because the freeholder is worried about it bringing the property’s value down.
Danijel Spilek, 51, and his wife, Vladana, 49, have to carry their daughter Ema up and down the stairs at their Alperton home every day, risking their own and their daughter’s safety, because of a stalemate over the installation of a lift that would get her in and out of the maisonette safely.
