Family run Co Fermanagh shop celebrates 20 years in serving community

A family run Co Fermanagh shop is celebrating 20 years serving its local community this week.

Fresh from reopening after a complete rebuild of the store, the Corry family who run the Palmbush filling station in Kesh are now marking the two decade milestone.

The store, owned and operated by Corry family members Michael, Marian, Aiden and Colette, first opened in June 2003.

It started with just 10 employees and now has a team of 40 from the local area thanks to the expansion of the store when it reopened in March this year.

The family also runs ViVO Dromore in Omagh, which opened in November 2022.

The Palmbush development has enabled the family to meet the needs of their local shoppers, providing fresh food and produce from local suppliers, and a popular hot food counter.

Michael Corry says providing jobs for young people in the Kesh area has always been a priority for the family.

Michael said: “Since opening, we have always sought to employ young people from the local area, providing them with essential experience and skills for their future.

"I was given that opportunity at a young age and I know how invaluable it has been to me, so it’s great to be able to give that back to the young people in our community.”

To celebrate their 20 th milestone, the store held a community fun day on their birthday (3 rd June) where families enjoyed face painting, balloon modelling and goodie bags.

Michael added: “We’re delighted to be celebrating 20 years of our store, it’s such a privilege to serve our community. It is so important for us to be able to provide our shoppers with choice, value and quality products and services.

“We also want to thank our amazing team of dedicated staff who make all this possible.”
