The devastated family of a "cheerful and loving young man" who died in a crash on the A470 have paid tribute to him saying their "lives are the better for having known him." North Wales Police is appealing for information after Finnley Michael Jones died in a two-vehicle collision.

The 20-year-old from Penrhyn Bay died after the collision on the A470 Conway Road, Llandudno involving Black Vauxhall Corsa and a White coloured Vauxhall Corsa. The crash happened at around 8.30pm on Monday, October 24, North Wales Live reports.

His family have now paid tribute to him. In a statement shared by North Wales Police, they said: “It is with great sadness that we announce the tragic loss of our beloved son and brother in an accident. He was always the most loving, generous and happy young person, who was enjoying life to the full and he will be most terribly missed by his family and all the many friends who knew and loved him.

“We, his family, are devastated, as we begin to comprehend the loss of Finnley. His positive outlook, his humour and his sweetness will always stay with us and we are missing already the presence of such a wonderful young man. The family added that they would like to express their sincere thanks to the emergency services and the members of the public who assisted Finnley at the scene of this tragic accident and to North Wales Police for their compassion and professionalism dealing with such tragic circumstances, which have deeply touched all who have been involved.
