Family pay tribute to dad-to-be who 'made so many people happy'

The family of a dad-to-be have paid tribute to him, saying he "made so many people happy".

James Stott, 34, died after going missing from his home in St Helens. He did not return home after leaving on September 2 and was last seen at his workplace on September 8.

Speaking to the ECHO, James' brother Lee Stott and Lee's partner Rachael McDonnell paid tribute to him on behalf of the family. They said of James: “You just lived your life the way you wanted to live it and made so many people happy on your way.”

James' partner Karla is pregnant, leading his mum Julie Chapman to urge him to return home for the gender reveal. The family said that going missing was out of character for James.

The family have also launched a GoFundMe appeal in order to "give Jay the send off that he deserves". Organised by Rachael, the appeal reads: "We are raising money to give Jay the send off that he deserves.

"He has sadly passed away after being missing for 4 weeks. He leaves behind his family, his pregnant partner and plenty of friends.

"Jay was a well known, much liked part of St Helens as well as anywhere else he travelled to along the way."

At the time of writing, the campaign has raised £1,370 of its £1,500 goal. You can view it by clicking here.
