A dissent has been issued by the family of the late U.S. Supreme Court Justice, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, regarding an award named after her. The family has requested that her name be removed from the award after the Opperman Foundation, responsible for the award, decided to honor both Elon Musk and conservative media mogul, Rupert Murdoch.
In a statement released by the family, they expressed their disapproval of the foundation's decision, stating that it deviated significantly from the original purpose of the award and the values that Justice Ginsburg upheld. The family clarified that they have no association with the award and highlighted that its initial intention was to recognize women of distinction.
