Jason Dick was walking down a street in north-west Queensland in the early hours of November 5 when he was struck by a vehicle and killed.
A month later, mystery surrounds the 30-year-old's death as police in the rural city of Mount Isa struggle to uncover any leads on what is being labelled a hit-and-run.
As family members mourn the loss of "a good person", a "hard worker", and a loving dad, they are calling for anyone with information to come forward.
"I want to just move on. All I want is answers," said Mr Dick's partner Wongka Neale.
It was about 1:20am on Saturday, November 5, when Mr Dick was hit by a vehicle on Moore Crescent in Mount Isa.
He sustained significant injuries as a result and died at the scene.
The vehicle did not remain at the scene or call emergency services, police said.
An investigation centre was established at the Mount Isa criminal investigation branch to determine the circumstances around Mr Dick's death. But, so far, police have come up short.
"Someone has to know something, " Ms Neale said.
"If you know something, just come forward … all I want is answers. That's all."
Mr Dick worked with Mount Isa City Council's parks and gardens department.
Councillor Kim Coghlan said Mr Dick's family, work colleagues and the community needed answers.
"His passing has left his entire team missing him," Cr Coghlan said.
"He was a very, very hard worker and an honest employee."
Mount Isa Police Detective Inspector Dave Barron reminded the community information could be shared anonymously.
"We appeal to anyone in Mount Isa or other towns who have information or may know something about this incident to contact police or contact crime stoppers," Detective Inspector Dave Barron said.
"It can be provided anonymously through the crime stopper service.
"The impact of this death on the Mount Isa community is significant. Jason has a daughter and other family members in this community who have been deeply impacted by this incident."
