Simon An and his family, who run a taekwondo studio outside Houston, Texas, sprang into action when they heard screams coming from a neighboring store on Wednesday. The An family, all skilled in martial arts, rushed to the scene where they found a man attempting to sexually assault a woman. According to An, the family had just returned from lunch when they heard the distressing screams. An's father, upon hearing the commotion, led the family to the nearby Cricket Wireless store. There, they discovered the man on top of the woman in a back room. An's father swiftly pulled the assailant off and subdued him, despite sustaining minor injuries in the process.
The suspect, identified as Alex Robinson, was charged with attempted sexual assault for his actions. Court documents revealed that Robinson allegedly caused bodily harm to the victim, among other offenses. His bail was set at $100,000.
Following the incident, An's sister and mother provided support to the victim at their training center, ensuring her well-being after the traumatic experience. The An family patriarch expressed gratitude for being able to assist and emphasized their dedication to taekwondo.
