The family of a Dublin man killed in a fatal hit-and-run incident twenty years ago have made a fresh appeal for information.
The family of 22-year-old David Lynch appeared on RTE's Crimecall last night, as this week marks twenty years since his death. The tragic incident occurred at around 3am on Easter Monday on April 21, 2003, when David and his friend John McGuinness were walking along Blanchardstown's Main Street.
David is understood to have flagged an approaching taxi, but the car hit David, knocking him to the ground. The driver of the car failed to remain at the scene.

David sadly passed away from his injuries in hospital six days later. On Monday night's Crimecall, Gardai said that they believe the car that struck David was a silver Ford Mondeo taxi with its taxi plate light switched off.
The car was travelling along Blanchardstown Main Street in the direction of Blanchardstown Shopping Centre. Speaking on RTE's Crimecall, David's close friend John McGuinness said that he is much missed by all who knew him.
He said: "David was killed in a hit and run in Blanchardstown village on April 21, 2003. Twenty years later we miss him as much today as we did then when it happened."
David's older sister Michelle described her brother as being a "very decent and a good son and brother."
She said: "He was someone that you could depend on, someone that you could rely on. He loved life and lived it to the fullest"
David was also a big sport's fan. He played football with Corduff FC and he was also an amateur boxer.
David's brother Joseph described him as "the type of lad who's good at every sport". Michelle explained that the fatal hit and run happened Easter weekend in 2003, and that David had been doing exams as he was training to be an electrician.
She said: "He was training to be an electrician and he was also studying electronic engineering at night in college. After his exams he had decided to go out with his friends to celebrate."
David's friend John McGuinness recalled that they had decided to head down to the local chipper in Blanchardstown village and they ordered their food. They then tried to hail a taxi on Blanchardstown Main Street, and David was struck by a car that left the scene at speed.
On hearing the news that David has been in an accident, the Lynch family were left in deep shock. They rushed to the hospital where they were told that David was going to die.
Michelle said: "It was like this nightmare that we couldn’t wake up from and haven’t woken up from. There's a massive hole in our family since David passed away."
Michelle said that the family wants closure and to "give David the justice he deserves". David's brother Joseph added: "The fact that you don't know and you still don't know is like reliving the same day every year. It would be nice to not have that lingering over our heads anymore."
Gardai and the Lynch family are now making a direct appeal to the driver to come forward, or for anyone with information to come forward. Anyone with information is asked to contact the incident room at Blanchardstown Garda Station on 01 666 7032, the Garda confidential line on 1800 666 111 or Crimestoppers on 1800 250025.
