The family of a 17-month-old little girl who was mauled to death by their new dog have launched a GoFundMe to pay for her funeral.
Bella-Rae Birch died as a result of her injuries after the dog attacked at her family home in St Helens, Merseyside on Monday March 21.
Neighbours rushed to try and save the tot after they heard screams across the street, but she died of her injuries later that day in hospital.
Now her mum, Treysharn Bates has launched the fundraiser in memory of their "gorgeous blue eyed baby girl".
She wrote: "On the 21st of March we sadly lost our gorgeous blue eyed baby girl, who was just one tears of age, in a tragic sudden accident.
"We are now in a position where we need to raise funds towards the most beautiful send off.
"Every little will help, every little is appreciated. Thank you everyone."
The GoFundMe has already surpassed its target of £2,000 after the tragedy left the community devastated.
Neighbour, Jordan, had just returned from picking her own children up from school when she saw the commotion in her street.
The mum who is hoping to go to university in September to train to be a paramedic ran over to help when she heard screams.
She said: "I gave CPR to the baby.
"I heard them screaming for help and I ran over.
"The parents were hysterical.
Other neighbours described the dog as "stocky" adding that she thought it was a Pitbull or Staffy.
Another neighbour, who only wanted to provide his first name, David, said: "There were absolutely loads of police officers, there must have been about 20 police cars and ambulances.
"The square was absolutely swarming with them, I've never seen so many police in my life.
"I was just in shock when I heard a baby had been attacked by a dog."
Another neighbour who did not want to be named saw the "horrific" attack unfold.
He described the family as "lovely" and said the parents doted on their "beautiful" daughter.
He said: "They are absolutely devoted to their kids, they do everything with them, they're always together.
"It's horrific. I can't even speak about it."
Police were called at around 3.50pm by the family who live on Bidston Avenue, St Helens.
Now officers are appealing for information as investigations continue into the dog's breed and previous owner history.
Superintendent Steve Brizell said: "Bella-Rae has lost her life in the most unimaginably terrible circumstances and our thoughts are first and foremost with the family and the wider community at this time.
"Our specialist family liaison officers are providing the family of Bella-Rae with support and officers will remain in the area in the coming days to provide further support and reassurance for the wider community.
"At this stage we understand the family dog they had bought just a week earlier has attacked Bella-Rae in the family home.
"Bella-Rae was taken to hospital by ambulance by paramedics but despite the best efforts of police officers paramedics at the scene and doctors Bella-Rae sadly died as a result of her injuries.
"It has left a family and a community grieving and in complete shock.
"During the incident the dog was handed over to police at the address and has been humanely destroyed.
"Detailed investigations are continue into this tragic event forensic examinations to determine the dogs breed are ongoing and we are working to identify all the previous owners of the dog so we can establish its history.
"I want to appeal to anyone who was in the Bidston Avenue area yesterday afternoon and witnessed anything or has any information about the dog in question to please come forward and speak to one of officers.
