A family home has been destroyed after reckless behaviour saw a stray fire work fly through a window.
Three fire engines from Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service were called to Pasture Road shortly before 7pm on Sunday, October 30. When firefighters arrived, they found a fire in a flat located above The Lunch Pad café.
Images have since been shared to the ECHO, showing the extent of the damage as the residents have now lost "everything". A neighbour said the woman who lived there, who does not wish to be named, was sitting on the couch when a firework flew through her window, hitting her on the neck before it "exploded".

The worried neighbour added it was "shocking that she isn't seriously injured". But sharing the images with the ECHO, they hope they can raise awareness of the stark consequences that launching fireworks can have.
The woman said fireworks have been an issue for some time with them being aimed at the nearby flats. But on Mischief Night, disaster struck, and a family has now lost everything they own.
On behalf of her neighbour, the woman wrote on social media warning others of the detrimental impact fireworks can have. She said: "This is the damage that was caused by a firework that was aimed at the window of a flat on top of the shops on Pasture road.
"This wasn’t targeted at the people who live there, and wasn't just kids messing on mischief night; fireworks had been being aimed towards the flats continuously for days before this. On Sunday, one broke through the living room window of one of the flats and hit the girl who lives there in the neck as she was on the couch before exploding and causing a fire which spread to the front of the flat too.
"The walls of the flat were previously white! Luckily (and shockingly) she isn’t seriously injured, but thanks to this she’s lost her home and has had to experience something that’s enough to traumatise anyone."
The ECHO previously reported that f irefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the flat and extinguished the fire using two hose reel jets. The fire had been extinguished by 7.13pm and a full search of the flat was carried out, with all persons accounted for.
One person was assessed at the scene by North West Ambulance Service, but did not require further treatment. Fire crews left the scene at 8.39pm and handed the incident over to Merseyside Police, who cordoned off the road for several hours.
