The heartbroken family of a "beautiful" 27-year-old woman who suddenly vanished without a trace have tragically confirmed human remains found by police have been identified as her.
Jordan Cox, 27, went missing from home in Wyandotte, Michigan on March 26, leading to a frantic two-week search.
A fundraiser set up by a family friend read: "The Cox family has received official word that the detectives investigating Jordan's disappearance have located her remains.
"This is the absolute worse scenario imaginable in the nightmare that this week has been for them all."
Her cause of death has not been confirmed.
Jordan's family first called the police on March 31 they hadn't heard from her in days.
The Wyandotte Police Department said that the missing woman had left her home in order to help her dad move some boxes into his apartment.
She indicated that she intended to apply her make-up and then head out to go help him but, after finishing applying her makeup, she was said to have walked out of the apartment and never returned.
Her aunt, Kim Cox, had previously said she never made it to her dad's apartment and her most recent vehicle had been scrapped, so she didn't have a car.
The delay between her walking out and when the family reported her missing to the police was because they had hoped that she was out with friends and would return on her own.
She told The U.S Sun: "She's deeply missed by her family and friends and we're very saddened by this tragic loss."
Police, friends of Jordan and family conducted extensive searches through the Downriver area and Detroit.
Her aunt wrote on Facebook: "It's with a heavy heart and great sadness that I must pass on that my niece Jordan has passed away. My beautiful niece is now resting with the angels.
"Thank you so much for all your support help and encouragement through this last week."
After news of remains being found got out, one heartbroken friend wrote: "How empty and lost I feel...I am so sorry this happened to you. You should still be here. Life isnt fair...and I'm just so sorry. I love you so much jojo forever and always my forever best friend and now my angel. [sic]
"Till I see you again my love"
