'CREED III'
Rated PG-13 for intense sports action, violence and some strong language.
What it’s about: The third film in the "Creed" trilogy finds boxer Adonis Creed reckoning with a figure from his past.
The kid attractor factor: Teens might be drawn to the sports drama genre.
Good lessons/bad lessons: Resist taking on the guilt of the world and events outside of your control. Interpersonal conflicts can be bridged with honest expression and communication.
Violence: It's a boxing movie — there's a lot of violence within the ring. Also, a parking lot fight and brandishing a gun. An assault with a baton.
Language: Some strong language.
Sex: Marital domesticity but no sex.
Drugs: None
Parents’ advisory: This is OK for teens and older kids, but please be mindful of the boxing violence.

'PALM TREES AND POWER LINES'
Rated R for disturbing material, sexual violence, sexual content, drug/alcohol use, and language - all involving teens.
What it’s about: A teenage girl enters into a dangerous relationship with an older man.
The kid attractor factor: Not much — this is an intense indie drama about mature themes.
Good lessons/bad lessons: Don't get in the car with the strange man, ever.
Violence: Nonconsensual sexual acts involving teens.
Language: Some swearing.
Sex: Graphic sexual content involving teens.
Drugs: Teen drug use (marijuana) and drinking.
Parents’ advisory: This cautionary tale about sexual exploitation and imbalanced power dynamics in relationships is intense and disturbing. Not for younger audiences.
