THE National Museum of Flight will launch a brand-new family festival celebrating all things circular.
360 Fest will take place on Saturday and is open to all ages. Visitors will be able to enjoy activities including cycle stunts, circus displays and hands-on activities.
Scotland’s cycle stunt team, The Clan, will perform at the festival. The Clan offers display shows in Mountain Bike, BMX and Trail bikes. They will exhibit extreme jumps, flips and tricks on the museum’s historic Second World War airfield.
Cycling UK, the charity, will be at the festival. The charity aims to promote more people to cycle through inspiration, support and providing access to learn skills.
It will be on the festival site with e-bikes, cargo bikes and family friendly kit. Visitors can try the new bikes on a bespoke, purpose-built pump track provided by the Dirt Factory.
Steve McLean, general manager at the National Museum of Flight, said: “We’re excited to launch this brand-new family festival at the National Museum of Flight.
“This event offers lots of hands-on activities and entertainment to encourage families to spin into action and get creative together.
“360 Fest offers the perfect day out to round off the summer.”
Elsewhere at the event, on the backdrop of the Concorde, visitors will be able to watch unique performances at a pop-up circus from Think Circus.
Performances will be participatory and include circus workshops. Families can step into the ring and try hula hooping, spinning plates and diabolo juggling.
Other activities at 360 Fest include zorbing, giant bubble, circle-themed crafts and a pop-up planetarium.
All other attractions at the National Museum of Flight, including the Red Arrows Hawk, will be available to enjoy. Visitors can board Scotland’s Concorde, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary of its arrival at the ,useum, via the midship door and walk through the front cabin.
The museum’s Fantastic Flight gallery offers interactive displays to learn how aeroplanes fly and the Fortunes of War exhibition provides a way to learn about East Fortune’s history through photographs, films, personal testimony and unique objects.
360 Fest will take place on Saturday from 11:00 to 16:00 at the National Museum of Flight.
