Family clothes shop in Eastwood announces it will close after almost 90 years of trading

A clothes shop in Eastwood has announced it will be closing down after more than 80 years of trading.

Sanders Menswear, in Nottingham Road in Eastwood, made the announcement to its customers online.

The family-run business will be "pulling the shutters down for one last time" and it has launched a closing down sale with at least 30 percent off its stock.

In a Facebook post, the company said: "They say all good things must come to an end.

"And, after almost 90 years in business, we're sad to say that the time has finally come for Sanders Menswear to pull the shutters down one final time."

The statement continued: "Before we go, we'd also like to take this final opportunity to sincerely thank all our customers and friends down the years for your highly-valued custom, loyalty and support.

"We couldn't have got this far without you, and we wish you all the very best for the future."

The company's hire wear department is not closing, however, which provides suit hire for customers.

The sale on its other products started on January 15 and will go on until stock runs out.
