Relatives of hostages held in Gaza since Oct. 7 are grappling with increasing despair as hopes for a cease-fire deal to bring their loved ones home by the start of Ramadan have been dashed. Since the initial attack by Hamas-led militants on Oct. 7, around 250 hostages were taken, with approximately 120 being freed during a November cease-fire. Tragically, three hostages lost their lives during an attempted rescue mission. The families of the remaining hostages, at least 34 of whom are confirmed deceased, are now focused on securing the release of their loved ones.
