Families consider giving up Christmas as cost of living crisis bites

Christmas might look a lot different in many households this year, as families struggle to afford their usual celebration.

Expensive decorations and presents will be replaced by second-hand gifts in some households, while others will be funding the seasonal costs in a variety of ways they may not have thought of before this year. And nearly a fifth of families are considering cancelling Christmas altogether, according to a survey by ecommerce company RVS Media.

Bargain-hunting Brits are hopeful of tracking down bargains online, with eBay being the most searched-for retailer this year, with over 321,000 monthly searches in the UK alone, according to Google search data.
