Families can watch Blackpool Pleasure Beach ice skating show for free with park tickets

Families can watch the popular Blackpool Pleasure Beach ice skating show for free this summer.

The world’s longest running ice skating show, Hot Ice, has returned to the rink with 'skating spectacular' Rapture - an 'entrancing new performance that features an extraordinary cast of Olympic proportions'.

Theme park visitors can get free access to the 2.30pm matinee show with their Pleasure Beach tickets.

Guests are invited to 'marvel at a cavalcade of breath-taking choreography, as well as enigmatic music, lighting and pyrotechnics'.

With state-of-the-art visual effects, Rapture promises to deliver 'a perfect composition of fire and ice'.

The matinee shows - which costs from £10 standing up to £28 premium - lasts for 50 minutes, allowing you to either take a break from the park, or leave thrill seekers to the rides while you take a seat for the performance.

All you have to do is show your eTicket at the Arena Box Office ahead of the afternoon performance to receive a free standard or standing ticket. There is limited availability, so it's first come, first served for these seats.

Of course there's all the rides of the Pleasure Beach to enjoy too, including the Big One, Revolution, the park’s newest ride ICON – the UK’s first ever double-launch rollercoaster - and rides for little ones in Nickelodeon Land, where they'll also catch a glimpse of characters including Paw Patrol's Chase and SpongeBob SquarePants.

There's entertainment in the HuB, as well as the chance to get messy in Slime Time, which takes place daily from 12pm at FY4 near the fountains - which come in handy to wash it away once you're done.

Theme park tickets, from £32, (from £38 for late night riding) can be booked online, with the final late night riding session of the summer taking place on August 27, when rides stay open until 10pm.
