There’s little debate about which Fallout game is the best — almost everyone agrees it’s New Vegas. Developer Obsidian hasn’t worked on the series since that title, but would “love to” make another.
In an interview DualShockers, Obsidian co-founder Feargus Urquhart spoke about the possibility of making a Fallout: New Vegas follow-up.
“Of course, if we ever got the opportunity to make another Fallout game, we’d make it,” Urquhart said. “There’s not even a question of whether or not we would do it – it’s just ‘Will the opportunity arise?'”
Many people hope this dream comes to fruition, and it’s not all that unlikely since Microsoft now owns both Obsidian and Bethesda. Earlier this year, rumors suggested that all three parties were discussing the possibility of Fallout: New Vegas 2. However, nothing has come of those whispers since.
“If we were to do Fallout, it has to tie in with what Bethesda is doing with Fallout and a lot of other things,” Urquhart continues. “But I would always personally say my hope is that before I ride off into the sunset, I’d love to make another Fallout game.”
Bethesda is already planning another Fallout, but it’s coming after Elder Scrolls 6 — which won’t happen until Starfield releases. So it’s going to be a long wait.
