Fallout 4's next-gen update is now available to a wider audience on the PS Plus subscription service. Initially, only users on the 'premium' or 'extra' tiers could access the PS5 version after some initial challenges. However, those on the 'essential' tier were initially unable to access the update, even if they had added the game to their library through the now-discontinued PS Plus Collection.
The PS Plus Collection was a curated selection of top games from the PS4 era that were made available on the PS5 at no extra cost for subscribers. Players who had added Fallout 4 to their libraries through this method were initially limited to downloading the PS4 version only. But now, users who claimed the game through the PS Plus Catalogue can also download the PS5 version.
